THE BROADCAST SCHOOL
It is easy to start creating professional-looking presentations or broadcasts on a basic level in AI Producer. You start with yourself, a computer, and the documents you want to share. That’s all you need. No extra staff, software, or technical expertise is needed.
EASY WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR QUALITY
The quality of your production depends on the quality of the sound, the lighting, and the camera you are using – even cameras, as more cameras enable a variety of angles that make the result even more enjoyable. To make sure it works, use Teams certified equipment. And foremost – plan your presentation or broadcast.
PLAN YOUR PRESENTATION OR BROADCAST
To produce a presentation or a broadcast is easy. But it is usually very obvious when the preparation, in terms of planning the different steps, has not been done correctly.
It is good advice always to write down what you want to happen for a start. Make a simple timeline where you put the different sections, and see which of the different preset production formats you want to use.
If you pick Presentation as a format, the presentation can contain an introduction by you as a presenter, followed by an expert having a presentation of their expertise. Often with a slideshow to emphasize important parts of the message. Finally, a wrap-up where you, as the presenter, say thank you before you’re finished.
This is an example of a basic plan that is good to have before broadcasting.
AI PRODUCER CAN HELP YOU PLAN MORE PROFESSIONALLY
There is more to AI Producer than taking care of the actual presentation/broadcast. You can use a feature called Rundown to improve your planning.
In Rundown, you can combine different preset production formats. You make a schedule where you attach what format you want to use and for how long each section is expected to last. It gives you a good baseline for how the broadcast will work out, but it is not fixed. You can always change the length or the order of the formats, even during the broadcast.
Here you find more tips on how to use Rundown.
DON’T FORGET TO PRACTICE
You should always aim for time to rehearse the presentation or broadcast. It is an excellent way to find if something isn’t working and needs to be changed. In this way, everyone involved gets into their different roles and can be more relaxed when it is finally time for the broadcast.
AND – BE CAREFUL WHEN SHARING YOUR SCREEN
Be cautious when sharing content. Share a ‘window’ in Teams instead of sharing the entire ‘screen.’ In that way, you avoid sharing other content from your desktop and keep your privacy.
IMPROVE THE LIGHTING
It’s amazing how minor differences in light sources change the look of your production. When it comes to light, the basics are to have a light coming from front of you to avoid unpleasant shadows.
You must avoid having a strong backlight from, for instance, a window behind you. You will look dark and dull, and the background will look bright and sharp.
Another tip is that a stronger light is always better. Because when the light is low, the camera’s resolution goes down to compensate, and the picture looks coarse.

IMPROVE THE PICTURE
The picture quality depends on the quality of the light, as we mentioned, but what video camera you are using also has a significant impact.
The internal camera of your computer has its limitations, and by adding an external video camera, your picture will look better. It is because they have a larger sensor that can deliver a better resolution that makes the picture sharper and supports a better color range that makes the picture more vivid.
The next step is to add a second camera. It gives AI Producer another angle of the presenter to work with and provides a more interesting experience. The picture then can shift from, for instance, straight forward to a close-up from the side.

IMPROVE THE SOUND
The sound quality that the microphone in your computer or headset offer is usually limited. But an external microphone connected to your computer makes a difference – or if you are using an external video camera, you can attach an external microphone to improve the sound quality.
Another option is to add a sound mixer where you get complete control of the sound. Then you can adjust the levels of different microphones to different voices, and your production will sound entirely professional.
